When you think of embroidery, it’s okay to admit that your first thought is an image of your granny hard at work at her sewing machine. No worries – we get it. But we also want to let you know that custom embroidery at Threadbird is really so much more.
Here at Threadbird, we make it our goal to sit down with each of our clients and really find out what it is they want. We want you to go crazy and make your hats, polos and jackets something that’s really you. There’s no pressure to conform to the norm. It’s just you, your awesome ideas, and our team of design experts, working to help you turn your vision into reality.
But first, what is embroidery?
Great question! Embroidery is the process of decorating an item made of woven fabric with needlework. This needlework is usually comprised of thousands of stitches of thread or wool that are carefully stitched into a material (usually woven fabric). While this process used to be done by hand, today, modern custom embroidery is done with high tech machinery and digital embroidery file designs.
What kinds of products can be embroidered?
Embroidery is a very traditional form of decoration that can be used to decorate almost anything from towels and quilts, to tapestries and dresses. But don’t give in to your assumptions and start visualizing dusty bed skirts, table cloths and doilies, because Threadbird isn’t really into those things (thankfully).
Instead, we work with modern clients in a modern world, where custom embroidery is alive and well, distinguishing up-and-coming small businesses and setting our clients apart from the masses. We offer custom embroidery for the following (and more):
- Flatbill hats
- Military hats
- Sport zip-ups
If you want another product embroidered and aren’t sure if we can do it, just ask! There’s a very good chance we can help.
Our Custom Embroidery Process
First of all, here at Threadbird, we’re big fans of options. So we offer two kinds of custom embroidery: flat and 3D puff.
Flat embroidery is just what it sounds like. Flat.
3D Puff is an embroidery technique we use to raise your designs and make them look 3-dimensional and puffy. Hats, jackets and other kinds of outerwear typically work best for this kind of embroidery, and the less detail in the design, the better.
Once you have made your choice and submitted your design, we’ll send it off to production to get a stitch count. (This is the number of stitches needed to successfully embroider your design.) Our pricing is based off of that stitch count, which is usually anywhere from 3,000 stitches on up.
Once we have a stitch count, we’ll give you a final quote, which will include the cost for the stitch count and the base price for your hat, polo or jacket.
Our custom embroidery process is simple and straightforward and we like it that way. We think you will too! So whether you need some fresh custom embroidered polos for your first small business trade show, or custom hats to boost your pickleball team spirit, our crew here at Threadbird is looking forward to partnering with you to create a one-of-a-kind design that you love.
